The Happiest Place on Earth

Today was a perfect day. We woke up and got ready and got on the crazy freeway to go to Disneyland and California Adventure.  We got there, parked, took the Mickey and friends shuttle and walked into the happiest place on earth.

We walked down main street and took in all the joy that Disneyland is. I haven't been to Disneyland for probably 12 years. It all seemed like a new adventure to me. We knew that we wouldn't have time to go on every ride so we went on a few that we really wanted to and a few that had short lines. Our first ride was Indiana Jones.

The jungle cruise was right on our route and had a short line so we went on that next. Our "tour guide" was pretty funny and made the ride.

Pirates of the Caribbean was next on our agenda.

After Pirates we were off to Club 33 for lunch. I had never heard of Club 33 and after reading about it was super excited to go.  To get in you have to knock on the secret door and tell them your name and they ring you in. It was fun having people watch us go in wondering what we were doing.

The food was pretty great.  I didn't want to look too out of place so I didn't take very many pictures. The first course is a buffet, then you order an entree, and another buffet for dessert. Every time we would leave our table we came back and our napkins were folded up again. I thought that was pretty classy.

I was pretty excited about his little lemon delight here. I took one bite and winced. The lemon filling was more sour than a real lemon. One bite of that was plenty!

We figured the restrooms here would be more promising than out in the park. They were like a vacation on their own.

After lunch we walked around and went to few shops. When I saw the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique I had to go it. It's a darling little salon where little girls get all dressed up and get treated like a princess. I told Ben we'd probably have to take Eliza there someday.

We walked by the princess castle then by Repunzel's house.  The wait to get into Repunzel's was 90 minutes, the longest wait we saw all day, so we didn't go in. But it is adorable!

Our next ride was the Matahorn. I was not looking forward to it. I didn't want to get sick and am just not a fan of roller coasters. I am SO glad we went. It was so much fun. I couldn't believe it when it was over. It went too fast.

Ben didn't want to but was kind enough to go with me on It's a Small World.  It was fun but would definitely be a lot more fun with kids.

Next we headed to Toon Town. I loved it. It felt like we were in a cartoon.

Sorrin' Over California was one of our favorite rides. I love how they have the smells of what you are seeing. It's awesome feeling the breeze and smelling the lemons while flying over the lemon trees. I loved it!

Bugs Life is a delightful part of California Adventure. Something that will be more fun with our kids someday too.

One of my favorite things we did is seeing the attractions that aren't even there yet! I told Ben earlier in the day that they need to make a Little Mermaid ride. Well, this summer the Little Mermaid ride opens. It is going to be so much fun. Riding in a clam shell through Ariel's world, need I say more?

Next summer the cars world opens. There are huge mountains just like in the movie. And there are going to be quite a few rides. I can't wait to see it someday.

Our next and last ride was Grizzly River Wild. I didn't want to go and get super wet but we went and had a ton of fun. Come to find out I'm kind of a wimp! Even little drops I got scared on but loved it all in the end.

On our way out we went to the stores at Disney Downtown. We went in most of the stores and looked at the fun treasures. We were going to get Eliza the cutest Minnie with a princess outfit on but realized she wouldn't appreciate it so much. Ben found her the softest sweetest Pooh Bear so we got that instead.

Our trip was short and sweet. It was honestly one of the funnest things I have ever done. It was so fun being with Ben and doing new things. Disneyland is amazing but just one of the happiest places on earth!

Happiest yes, until you have screaming children there with you full of sugar on no nap and pushing 24 hours of fun! I am glad you had a blast. Makes me wish i was there again myself. I had not idea you even went. Wow, someone is SPOILED!
