Beauty & The Beast and City Creek

The last show of the season! We ate dinner at the new Nordstrom Cafe at City Creek. Amazing. Then we were off to the theater. It felt like we were in New York. Thanks for a fun night ladies!

Happy St. Patricks!

For some this might be silly, but for me it's a big deal! I decided to decorate a little bit for each holiday. I didn't post my Valentines wreath but I made one and it was adorable. Here is my St. Patrick's decor. I think it turned out fun. It makes our home feel festive.

Wrapping up birthday week

I have the best mother in law ever! She made me all of my favorites for dinner. Lasagna swirls, bread sticks, salad, and CARROT CAKE! It was such a fun night. I am so lucky to be a Hodgkinson!

Staycation {Day 3}

What better way to vaca then the temple! It's been way too long since we've done a session. We went and it was just what I needed today. Of course we had to have lunch at Plates and Palates. I never get sick of it. We ended the night we going to our first caucus. I am so not political I had to look up the definition of caucus. Eliza and I didn't quite make it through the whole thing. So we ended up going to pick up dinner at...Royal India! Yummy!

Staycation {Day 2}

Day two of staycation was lots of fun too. We heard of a place downtown and thought we'd check it out. Gilgal Garden is basically a rock garden. The interesting part is it was done but an LDS man in the 60's. He died in 1963 before it was finished. If you've never been it's pretty interesting. I thought it would be cool for a mutual activity. It could be cool. We hung out there for a bit then went to the zoo! Ben has never been to the zoo with Eliza so it was lots of fun. Eliza loved it as usual.

Eliza was walking down this hill. I told her to go slow so she wouldn't fall. She has basically gotten to the flat part and decided to sit and scoot the rest of the way. It was hilarious.

Since we didn't get to have the Eskimo Bars at Snake River Grill Ben decided to make them! They tasted amazing. They will definitely be made again...

Staycation {Day 1}

We were supposed to leave from San Fransisco this morning. When we looked at the weather it was rainy and floods all week! We decided to postpone the trip and go another time. It didn't sound super fun to hang out in a hotel all week. Ben already had planned taking the time off so we decided to have a staycation! After cleaning up from last night we headed to lunch at the Gateway. How we ended up at hotdog on a stick I'll never know. I hate to admit it but I love corn dogs so I didn't complain! I really like their lemonade too. After lunch we went to the Children's Museum. It was SO much fun. We have never been their and Eliza loved it. It was so fun seeing her play and figure things out. I think her favorite things were the balls. My favorite thing was doing the weather. It was so much fun. For dinner we went to Ruth's Diner. Ben and I went there on our third date and have been wanting to go again. Staycation was the perfect time to go! We had such a fun day. I think I could get used to Ben being home everyday...

We decided we want to have a big giant playhouse in our house someday after seeing the one here. It was awesome and totally doable.

Today was such a fun day. Ben took the day off which made it even better! We slept in, or rather relaxed in bed as long as Eliza would let us, and just hung out around the house. Ben took Eliza with him to the store while I took a shower. I rarely take long showers anymore and LOVED it! When they got home Ben made an amazing cake. I wanted coconut cake from Plates and Palates so Ben decided to make it. It was so dang good! I'm so glad he knows how to make it. After Eliza's nap and cake making we went to the Happy Sumo for dinner. We love it there and it had been way too long since we went. After dinner some of our family came down and had cake and ice cream. I got so many birthday wishes from family and friends. It was a perfect day!
