Bath time

Apparently Eliza likes bath time with dad much more than mom. Maybe because he uses warmer water. Or because he has big strong hands that can hold her better. I think it's because she got to wear her robe for the first time...

Sleep like a baby

E slept in her crib tonight for the first time. I was kind of sad with the thought of having her all the way across the house (it's far I know). She slept so great! She slept for 6 hours instead of waking up every 2 to eat. We were all happy campers in the morning.

I took Eliza to see her great grandma Tolman. Grandma held her for the first time. It was quite emotional for her. It was sweet. We're so glad she's still around.

1 Year

Wow how time flies. One year ago today I married the love of my life. Ben is the best husband I could have ever asked for. He means the world to me. I look forward to many more happy years with him. Happy Anniversary Ben. I love you lots!

Saturday we spent the day together. We went shopping and to lunch. That night we went to the Roof for dinner. Sunday morning I woke up to beautiful pink flowers and the sweetest most thoughtful card from Ben. I was going to make him breakfast before he went to church but Eliza didn't like that idea. She woke up at 3, 4, 5, 6 then 7. So instead of me getting up at 7 to cook, Ben got up with Eliza. So for dinner I made our breakfast. And for dessert we cut the top of our wedding cake. It was still pretty yummy. It's crazy that a whole year has past since we cut our cake at our reception. It's a wonderful life!

1 month

Eliza at one month...
still has dark gray eyes
growing like crazy
follows us with her gaze
still wakes up every 2 hours to eat
loves her tummy time mat
not so sure about baths
learning to like her swing
loves to stare at the giant clock on the wall
starting to smile, especially while sleeping
makes mom and dad extremely happy

“When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn’t stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother’s heart, and she puts it into the baby’s mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies"

4 weeks

Wow how time flies. Little Eliza, (aka Z, E, Liza, teacup, pumpkin, muffin, munchkin, little one, little honey...) is 4 weeks old today. These pictures show her after bath routine...

Mom, don't you know by now I hate taking baths...

But wait, I forgot I like getting snuggled in my cute pink towels...

Ok, once I'm all nice and warm I don't mind it so much.

Eliza doesn't love bath time but I sure do! Especially getting her out of the bath. She gets so mad but is instantly happy when she gets in her towel. Love her more and more every single day!

Grandpa Bott

For some reason Eliza's grandpa's have taken a long time to hold her. Today when Grandpa Bott came to visit Ben handed her right to him. He did a great job. He loves her a lot. And Eliza loves him.

Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Think about how you have been affected by breast cancer.
Think about those you love who have been affected by breast cancer.
Wear pink.
I know I will.

Eliza loved to be swaddled for the first couple weeks. She still likes it but now has to have her arms free. This is how she sleeps. Arms above her head. I love it. She's such a cute little teacup.
